Deep Cover Concealment Shoulder Holsters
The phrase "concealed carry fanny holster" seems to have many different meanings to different people. To some, it means any holster that can be somewhat hidden. According to Webster’s dictionary, the word concealed means "to prevent disclosure or recognition of, or to place out of sight." In reality, a concealed carry holster needs to hide the weapon from the view of others, while still allowing for quick access.
In the past, shooters basically had a choice of either an inside the waistband holster or a belt holster for their concealed carry needs. Now that firearms manufacturers are producing smaller handguns in potent calibers, other styles of holsters such as pocket models and ankle holsters are now being marketed for concealed carry.

Weapon size
Build
Climate
Although most of these elements are somewhat related, here’s some specific thoughts on each one.
Size of the weapon – This is the one factor that seems to overlooked when trying to choose a concealed carry holster. The size of the weapon will play a significant role in the type of concealed carry holster and the extent that it can be concealed. Obviously, the smaller the weapon, the easier it tends to be to conceal. At the same time, a really small weapon may not have enough firepower or round count to adequately protect you. The route for most people is to decide on an appropriately sized weapon and then start holster shopping. Generally, the problems start to arise when the selected weapon is a bit too large and proper concealment becomes an issue.
As weapon selection and size are so important, here are a few ideas to get you going down the right path. First, match the weapon to the application. For example, if your weapon will be doing triple duty in home defense, concealed carry, and competition shooting; then you’ll probably need to look at a larger compact size weapon. However, if you are purchasing a weapon strictly for concealed carry, then focus on this application. In addition to being more difficult to conceal, larger weapons may also rule out some forms of concealed carry like pocket carry or ankle holsters.
Build – Aside from weapon size, this is another factor that is seldom considered before searching for a concealed carry holster. Let’s face it; not everyone is built the same so not all forms of concealed carry holsters are going to work for everyone. Probably inside the waistband holsters are the biggest issue for different body types. If an inside the waistband holster won’t work for you, look at a high riding belt holster, a pocket holster, or an ankle holster as a possible alternative.
Climate – Although many people don’t think that much about it, climate can and will play a major role in concealed carry. To a certain degree, climate will dictate the type of clothing that you wear, which in turn will play a part in your concealed carry. Hot or humid climates will usually require shorts and short sleeves, while cooler climates allow for more clothing, which translate to easier concealment. Warm climate locations can pose the biggest challenges to concealed carry as clothing is minimal. In this situation, weapon selection becomes paramount. Warmer climates also can eliminate some potential concealed carry methods. For example, if shorts is the preferred pants in that climate, ankle carry and ankle holsters won’t be an option. Take climate into consideration when holster shopping.
